Passenger rocker removed, new one clamped in place, I marked the passenger side qtr panel where It will need to be cut out for its patch panel. Have to go to work today, wish I could keep going on it!

went and looked at a 57 chevy yesterday, found out why my brothers car seems so tweaked! it apears that the PO removed the rear most trunk brace from the car, and we were trying to bolt the car up to the frame with out it..... going to have to get a new brace installed! we were wondering why it took almost an inch of shims in the back to make stuff to line up!

I bought poly bushings for my 55 so they didn't give very well (at all) and there was a serious pre load on my cars body. Glenn took measurements and took the frame in and got it tweaked at the frame shop so they could still use the poly bushings and minimum shiming. He said it had an inch of gap they would have had to shim and got it down to 1/8".

It tweaked the body so much the doors wouldn't shut and gaps were way off. Much better now. Technology wasn't very good back then so there is some tolerance stack-up to consider.

Ya the tri fives are famous for being flimsy, this is also a different frame then what it came with. It would be a good idea to have it checked at a frame shop..... Do you know what the frame shop charged for tweaking it?

Not the same obviously, but my Chevelle's frame was about 1 1/2" higher on one side than on the other in the rear since it was hit from behind sometime before I bought it, cost about $200 at Kimball's in Lakewood.  This was body off, frame and suspension only and when I put the body back on, it fit perfect.  They said one of the spring pockets were tweaked.
