What did you do to your car today

Thought it would be cool to have a thread where you could post the day to day small stuff.

I will start it off.

This weekend I finished installing wheel well molding on my HS car, and today I installed rear interior pannels in the Turquose Chevelle. Niether are probably worthy of there own thread, but I made progress none the less.

Met up with Brian and worked on the 383 a little, it was damn cold in the shop! I only fit the Lokar quick release oil dip stick tube, but still need to cut the cable to the proper length once I figure out how much oil I want to run. I think Brian's got the starter in and all wired up. Not much, but it's coming along.

I got home and fired up the '69 and pulled it out of the shop, tried starting the Nova but the old battery is shot. It wouldn't even turn over on the charger. I might buy a new battery tomorrow, I want to atleast run the cars once a month. So, not much, but atleast I got out to the shop today for an hour.

I cleaned up and wrapped some more wiring on the SPAL Fan controller, moved the location of my guage temp sender and the fan controller temp sender. I also tried to use a spacers behind the hydroboost system to see if I could level the master cylinder some more. It didn't work to well.

Sounds good Dave...after looking at it last night I think I know how to tackle it. When I get there I'll show ya my idea and if it passes the sanity check.

Finished installing carpet & reinstalling shifter/console & other stuff in eric's turq chevelle. Took the rear seat cover loose & reattached 3 times over the weekend to try and get the seat cover stiches & pleats to line up better with the bottom cover. Finnaly got it right last night.
What a nitpicky bastard! :D

Right color carpet sure made a difference. The new seatcovers & doorpanels really show how dingy & yellowed the originals had become.

Haven't seen my own car in about 3 weeks since he and I swaped cars to make doing the carpet in his easier... Probably been a good thing- it keeps me from spending christmas money putting gas in & driveing it!

If last week counts, I did the new tailpipe hangers. I also found a $30 Summit Gift Certificate I forgot I had today from buying parts quite awhile ago, it ends the first of January 2012.....I think I'll buy another set of those Autolite AR135 spark plugs with it that the parts stores don't sell locally.(they're 1/4" shorter than the std. shorty 145s so I don't burn the spark plug boots or shields)

Last week I finally was able to squeeze my car in my newly cleaned garage. Woohoo, first time in years she's been in MY garage in years (last winter Jim made space for it in his because my front window leaks). Although it had to be pushed in with a tire between the Chevelle and my Taurus because the starter decided to free-spin without engauging into the flywheel even with the key turned off. I had to disconnect the battery to stop the starter, it still freespun when reconnected. Starter solinoid must be trash.

Next items to fix:

1) Starter

2) Pull and reseal front window, however I may run into rust repair, if so I may pull the badly weathered vynil top and do rear window reseal and rust repair as well. Sooo not looking forward to that project but needs to be done sooner or later. May need help...

Thanks, I'll need all the help I can get. I'm afraid of finding tons of rust.

Bought new parts. The car is at a warehouse now so I don't see it as often.

Drove it to work, thought about dicking 'round with the Carburetor to see if I could make it happier in the cold, said screw it, drove it home.

I should have taken it out for dougnuts since mine was unavailable.
