Hello from Arlington
Permalink

Hi my name is Rick and I have a 1970 Chevelle SS and I thought this would be a good place to find some local Chevelle enthusiasts. I have mostly been builing Jeeps for the last 30yrs and I am on a couple local offroad forums, but lately I have had an itch to build something with some horsepower, which came from having a new GTO for a while, it was a fun car but after a couple of months I found myself wanting more power. I am not sure what I am going build but another Chevelle in the shop sounds like a good idea.

Thanks for the welcome, this is a great site and will probably cost me some money but what the hell it is something I can do with my son, so that makes it an easier sell to the [BOSS] at home. Hopefully I can make it to a couple of events and watch you guy's light up some tires.

Welcome to the place!! I am also a Arlington Chevelle owner. We are having a big BBQ and Burnout party at my place July 28th you should plan on coming and meet some of the guys. My diesel club will be here as well so be prepared for some diesel soot and well as tire smoke! The food is great!

Your name sounds VERY familiar I have a feeling I know you from somewhere.

I should start collecting parts!!! I am thinking BBC w/auto and dana 60 with a paralell 4 link and then wait for the right car to put it in. when I find the car I'll narrow the rear end and upgrade to some 35 spline axles, one question I have is what are you guy's running for posi/lockers on a street strip car. I wish I had $3500.00 for the 69 Nova for sale in Arlington!!!!! but for now I hope you guy's don't flog me to bad for not messing with my stock 70 SS even though I have thought about parking the original motor and sliding something a little more fun in there, but I'm not sure it would be worth the time or the money.

Hell, that is exactly how our group (refuse to call it a "club") came to be...

Welcome aboard!

I for one think your smart not to mess with the 70. Leave it alone and get something else to mod out, race and have fun with.

Also welcome.

x2, at least build a different motor to thrash on so you don't blow the original sky high.

That 69 nova in Arlington does look to have potentual, it's got "kick George's a$$" all over it.

12 bolt, 4.11 spool, 33 spline axles.

Built bullet-proof by the Algerian Giant.

I drive it less than 500 street miles a year and it's fine for that.

Wouldn't want a spool for a lot of daily driving.

But it's top shelf at the track.
