I have a ton of pics. I need to get them uploaded and will share a link. This years show by number of attendees was the biggest in the 50 years the show has been going on. Amazing! Even with the economy still struggling out of a hole, it seems people are willing to keep searching for more speed and power!

Mini update....just ordered a tremec t-56 magnum today. Oh the joy of an LS and a 6 speed! *elk boner*

Anyone else use Hardnose? Its the more aggressive coating from POR-15. Thinking it would be nice on the chassis and diff.

Yeah I cant imagine there being anything better than the regular stuff, but this hardnose paint is supposed to be it.

Visiting you and that beautiful 66 was the last straw for me.  I had to get my hands dirty on something or I was going to go crazy.  Now its a mad dash to get everything I need and get busy!

Got most of the dash removed.  Have a couple little things left to do then its some fresh paint and back together.  Have a bunch of stuff that should arrive next week.

Popped off the ugly dash pad and loved the level of ingenuity someone used to hot glue and some office supplies to make repairs.  Awesome!

Will be next weekend before I can dive back into it.

For now I'm settling into the recliner and cranking up the biggest game of the season....GO CHIEFS!

So got the dash taken apart and started to look over the issues that need fixing.  I'll be spot welding my rear off with all the crap someone drilled and attached to this thing.  Sheesh.  Its fixable with a little work.  As I was inspecting the instrument cluster...I realized something.  Years ago I had the cluster out of my 67 Chevelle cleaned, serviced and had the face plate changed for a manual car.  I wasn't sure if I brought it with me in the move or it stayed in KC...but hey!  I have it!  Woohoo.  Saved a couple dollars and time.

Have plenty of surface rust to clean up on the shell.  So not looking forward to it.  Might just knock the big stuff off and spray some epoxy over it to keep it from rusting more and come back to it when/if I decide to do some body work.

Also found a nickel in the dash!  1964 date.  I'm going to go ahead and pretend its been in the car since 1967.  Awesome.

Had my friends at OPGi send out some things I need.  Should be able to button this thing up by the end of the month and get to work on the drivetrain.  All will depend on my ability to focus and get a couple days of work in or if 90000 other things wont try and drag me in other directions!

Yup.  Let me know.  I'm hoping to have a lot of time to work on it next week.

Anyone have a good body and paint person who will do small work? I have the dash out and figure I might as well have it painted instead of rattle canning the thing. Some of the paint guys I knew back in KC were crabby with individual pieces and refused to do them.

One of the nice things about being gone all week is the pile of stuff waiting for me.  Should have the rest early next week and have most everything to do the interior.  Trans is the big one.  I should have made some templates for the trans tunnel when I did this a couple years back.  HOPEFULLY I can keep the alligators off my ass next week and get some stuff done.  Should be a good week.

Get with my Bates classmate Justin. Will PM you his number. Think he has everything to do the job at his house.
He was a ground-pounder a few years back, 11B in the sandbox.

Spent a little time this week in the garage.  Lots of parts arrived this week which has me itching to get moving.  Almost all of the interior stuff is here and ready to go.  Had to cut out a nice little bit of cancer and patch in a fix.  My seats arrived but they are still in the box.  Has me thinking of doing a cage, but on the El Camino its going to be a bit of a pain for the kickers.  Not sure I want to screw around with it.  Maybe a simple four point so I can attach the seat harnesses.  Decisions, decisions....

My Tanks EFI tank and sending unit arrived today.  I haven't bought any of their stuff in several years and its nice to see they have a low dollar version now available.  Have a built in EFI sump and lowered the sump an inch to accommodate the pump.  Brilliant!  Tank and sender with freight was under $250.  The Aeromotive Stealth in tank pump it what its receiving.  So for around $800 you can have a full blown EFI fuel tank.  Way better than the $2000 I spent on the last one I bought.

We'll see how bored the wife is tomorrow and if I'll get some time to play.  Maybe I'll feed her too much turkey and let her fall asleep in front of a couple bad football games while I work!

Anyone need a bench seat?  I really don't know squat about factory seats and if this is really a Chevelle/El Camino seat.  It looks like its in really good shape.  No rips, tears.  But I don't need it and if will go to a good home, its yours.  Free!  As long as its out of my shop by Christmas.  Either that or its going to get "donated" to whatever dumpster I can fit it in.

Little to update.  Looks like its going to be a week+ before I can get back in.  PRI in Indy and I'm really looking forward to it being back there.

Took out the cracked windshield and started cleaning up some trouble areas.  Now that the windshield is out, and the interior is completely gutted....I'm thinking of putting in a cage.  Anyone have any suggestions on who I can call?  I just don't have the resources to bend up the tubing.  Not in a rush, but would like to have it all put back together by the end of February so I can start on the drivetrain.

Lots of cleaning and painting to do before the interior is ready to go back in.  Think I have everything I need to get moving other than the cage!
