Another short weekend and not much got done!  Got the dash all sanded down and primed.  Will hold off on finishing it till the cage work gets done.  I did dig out the ididit steering column for the Chevelle and guess I'll use it in the Elk.

Out till next Friday late.  PRI should be really good this year now that's its back in Indy but its keeping me from the shop!

More after next weekend!

I swear I'll get some time to tweak on this thing one of these days!

Started to take out the passenger side inner fender so I can get to the heater core/blower motor.  They are both shot.  My GOD nw cars sure take abuse.  I've never seen so much rust and garbage fall off something I'm working on!  I swear the whole front end is gonna fall off...

In other news...shit just got real.  Hello Mr Bellhousing.  Mr Tremec will be with you very soon!

What a Christmas. Sick as a dog! Havent spent 2 minutes with the car and wont for a while if I keep feeling like sh*t.

Gotta get that transmission tunnel cut out and rewelded in. Might get the cage work done first and come back to it. Gah.

Yeah I've come to the conclusion that NW cars tend to turn themselves into junk if not taken care of.  You all are champions if you've put up with this all your lives and still rescued cars!

Well still digging through the interior before the cage work starts.  Seems like every where I turn, I don't find more rust, I find complete destruction.  Man you all are brave for doing this with a NW car!

Hopefully next week I can start and quickly finish the cage.  But heres some ugly to look at until then...

That's the trouble being married to someone you work with.  Shedevil knows EXACTLY how much things cost.  I told the shedevil one time, "hey I bought a set of heads for the Chevelle.  They were only $300!"  And then she asked for the part number and who cnc'd em.  OUCH.

Thankfully shes as geeked as I am on this build.  So no dog house time for me.  Yet.

Get my text?  Next week ok for lunch?

Theres been enough threads on the Team Chevelle site about the Dynacorn heater box.  While its pretty good quality (from what I can tell so far) its not quite a perfect Chinese knock off.  For me?  Its more than perfect as long as it actually functions properly and holds up.  For the Chevelle purist?  Its got some imperfections.  Couple pictures.

Oh and excuse me while I pop this Tremec boner.  T-56 Magnum finally showed up.  Yowza I love this thing.

Carry on!

Cage going in. The one thing I'm not equipped to do. Stopped by today to look at the progress. Should be done on Monday. Amazing the guy works this fast. The last cage I had installed took two flipping months!  this guy has had the car two days and is just about ready to weld it all up.

And I thought the interior had a ton of rust....OMG....the bed has places to store more of the junk! Ah well. More stuff to do. =)

More soon.
