Ok this is the first time I've had an exposed cage. Whats the best paint to squirt on it? Something fairly durable. POR-15 is out of the question unless I want to let it rust all to hell first. Any good epoxy type paints anyone has had luck with?

I just used rattle can high temp engine paint for primer and color (cast coat iron) but, mine isn't exposed to the elements.

Got the car back today.  Love the swing out kits from Chris Alston, but damn they were expensive.  Nice and tight up against the doors and didn't hack up the dash.  Just what I wanted and was hoping for.  That guy does nice work!

Goto wesco in puyallup, they will have it. I use a Pre-val disposable sprayer to spray small areas

SEM Trim black.

My new favorite semigloss black paint. Goes on without a primer- sprays real thin, but drys fast and is tough.

Summit sells it for $10 a can (vs wesco at $17 a can).

Ron Pircey will do just about anything you want, but he'll try and talk you into an NHRA cert cage.  I think because that's what he's most comfortable with, what is the best strength wise and what reflects best on his work.  I suggested the attached because what I wanted was the factory glass for several reasons.  I wanted the factory glass and NOT use Lexan.  The car will be a rolling piece for work and I spend a significant amount of time in Canada.  The last thing I need is my twice a month border crossing body cavity search to include scrutiny about my vehicle.  Plus my propensity for interaction with highway patrol and local authorities.  Its already going to attract too much attention.  Might as well not make it worse plus the aggravation with lexan in a rainy environment.

Not going to get much done this week.  Too much pull away from it for work related stuff.  I did however buy some of the PPG DP90.  Wholly buckets I forgot how expensive that stuff was.  Yowza.  Should be able to squirt the cage in a couple weeks when I return home.

In the meantime....

I should have this inline 6 and powerglide out the weekend of the 15th/16th.  It needs to go to a good home.  Thought about craigs listing it, but I'm not feeling that ambitious.  It started and ran fine.  I put maybe five miles on the car before I began to gut it.  If anyone wants it, message me.  Its in Spanaway and you'll have to pick it up there.  I can be flexible on the time.  Both go together.  So if you're looking for a solid PG core, you're going to be the owner of a 6 cyl too.  :)  No clue what it is.  I'm guessing its the 230?  No clue what the common 6 cyl size was.  Whatever it is, I'm sure this is it.  I have a hoist, so no need to drag yours along.

Soooo....help me send this to a good home.  If not, they'll be heading to the yard for scrap.  I'm sure the weight is worth a few bucks.  Holla back!

Hey this is weird.  Someone painted the fan blade black.  When I was tearing out the radiator and the core support, I noticed their was some blue showing.  So I hit it with some air and revealed this color.  Not seen this before.  Not a factory color on a fan, is it?

Looks aftermarket to me. I believe the stock fan was a 4 blade in an X pattern.
