Fortunate man is honored to harbor Kevin's chevelle

Hello TCNW

On the fourth of April I was blessed with the opportunity to purchase a beautiful 1966 Chevelle. It looks like you all know it well, the car was built by Kevin R. His craftsmanship in the build is astounding. Not only did the car speak for itself, but five minutes into talking with Kevin on the phone about his Chevelle I knew he was authentic. Sometimes you can just tell you know? The car was for sale on the local craigslist, I have been looking at and for a Chevelle for a long time and this one is perfect. I saw the ad on the 2nd but it was posted on March 31st and I was so glad it had not sold. I would have expected to travel to get a car of this caliber, but here it was just 15 minutes North from me! Kevin's knowledge of the build, fully straight forward explanation of his modifications and immediately apparent honesty sold me on the car. I hope to be friends with Kevin and maintain contact so I can understand all the ways he made that 66 fly the way it does and because he's awesome.

I've been into cars since high school and started out as a Mopar guy, yah yah I know, Mopar dudes are total nerds. So I eventually went on to Fords for a while having had a 35 two door sedan that never really made it to the street. After that back in 2010 I bought a 71 Nova and have been Chevy hooked ever since. I . can't believe it took me so dang long to see the light!. I've been into a third gen Malibu for a while its a 74 and it just came out of paint, it was a stripped six cylinder car but now has a decent small block 400 and th350 in it, If you haven't seen the movie "Drive" that came out a couple years ago, the main character has a 73 Chevelle that's bad to the bone.

I've got just a couple mods planned for the 66, first of which is I'm a big and tall and the seat might need a little repositioning to get comfortable. I love just about everything about the car, the manual steering is a bit of a chore but I hope to get used to it. I love the radio delete panel but it is nice to have tunes from time to time.

Hoping to learn a lot here about Chevelles and performance in general

Jimmy

Welcome Jimmy. Yeah, we know the car pretty well, LOL. As a side note, nothing wrong with Chrysler Corp. products(I love them, just haven't bought one of their muscle cars yet).

Glad you made it here Jim. Great group of guys with plenty of knowledge. Hope you enjoy the hell out of that car.

I went down Saturday and paid off my home equity loan with the money. I am now debt free except for my house payment. Danielle and I should be fine now. As soon as the kids get older Danielle will be able to get a job out side of the house. At that time I should be able to get something else. We will see as it will most likely be about 5-7 years from now. I will try to get a small truck or something for Evan when he turns 15 but nothing fancy that we can do some work on.

Welcome aboard!

If you need a little more room in that seat- lean the drivers side seatback forward, and remove the little rubber bumper that the seat back sits on, and put it back
Simplest mod in the world, This will allow it to lean back another few degrees. Can make a huge difference for tall guys like yourself.
