Need electrical help.

Hey guys.

My dad is dealing with some electrical system shenanigans on the girlfriends '69 C10 and between a lack of time and his seething, frothy rage at chasing electrical gremlins, it's not getting done.

Anyone interested in taking a look at it? Send me a PM and I'll get you in touch with him.

You will get more replies by stating the problem(s) in this group...in other words not many other than myself will reply and I'm not coming up there in person.

The jist of it is, and I bet it's probably something stupid and simple, is a tail-light/signals thing. I'm a little hazy on it- he'll get one side of the system working and the other will quit. I'll get a more precise explanation of what's going on here...

He hasn't had much time to work on it either; I was just putting it out there for him. He'd do pay or possibly trade/part trade on upholstery work. Not gonna ask for any buddy stuff, especially when I haven't been around.

I had an issue with the GTO where I had to figure out which front left parking/turn signal power wire was which otherwise it would do weird things like dim signaling and backfeed through the right hand turn signal. I also made sure my ground connections were clean, dry and tight.

Thanks Mike, I'll pass that along.

This is what he says-

"ok,new headlight switch, new dimmer switch, all sockets cleaned with new bulbs, new turn signal connector, some wiring cleaned up(wires cleaned and new connectors)---headlights work, but no taillights--directionals work front but not rear --no brake lights---fuses replaced--battery is new"

Sounds to me like his intermediate harness(the one that plugs into the dash harness and the rear taillamp harness) needs either cleaning or it has a problem.

Could be the turn-signal switch in the column! I had a similar issue in my '68 C-10.
