As most know by now I towed this home Wednesday July 8th.  Currently 283ci, TH350 with staple shifter missing console, 10 bolt(confirmed 3.08s in 8.2").  Needs 2 fenders and probably a driver side quarter panel, driver window.

Ignition key is stuck in it, gas tank was pretty full(drained 13 gallons via existing pump vacuum) and has large dents in the bottom of it.  Otherwise most of the car is there but it needs normal stuff fixed/replaced.  Found the ignition coil is bad today, engine turns over with no noise, has a newer starter.  All engine fluids and brake fluid look good, brakes work.

Original exterior color is Medium Blue, it will go back to that color.  Thinking a 6.0L and an overdrive automatic, not sure about the rear end yet.

Fine, I copied and pasted the most interesting ones.  PB wasn't working that way for me last night.

Found out today that larger spoiler started in '71 and the gas tank with 3 vents and evap system is also for a '71 so they must've started doing that in at least the June of '70 cars.  The spoiler wasn't original, can see original emblem holes that were covered and it has metallic green paint under the red.

correct-o-mundo
Low 1PC spoiler for 1970 and into 71 IIRC. It sets them apart, mo-better
unique low back seats
think unique door panels too
is that a TA steering wheel?
cannot tell from the pic, gauges of idiot lights?
main shell looks like an easy fix
not much left of the passenger fender, what I see of the DVR fender, not bad unless thrashed low down under the belt

bet that 283 is a mean SOB :)
it may run well and get good mpg as-is once running right

Big center piece of existing spoiler has 2 fubar holes, haven't looked at the driver side piece.  A big spoiler will be going back on, screw originality on that subject.  Steering wheel looks like crap, under the fake-ish cover is a tanish-brown poop color.  Katie likes the split bumpers, and even though it's incorrect for a non-RS car that's the decision that has been made...the original needs 2 holes welded shut and rechromed anyway(scratches, a little rust).

No tach, oil pressure gauge hanging out of radio(missing) hole.  Console has IIRC a blue and yellow wire with no crimped ends, is that for a clock?

Driver fender looks needing replaced to me, guessing Joe would say that.  Bought a coil today but installed windows and painted the shed today, after running around all morning.  Charging the gigantic for a 283ci 850CCA battery that came in the car right now.

Thats a good buy for $2500. Should clean up nicely. I agree, with the split bumper spoiler look.

It ended up quite a bit less $$$ than that.  Katie pressure washed it today, the battery seems to have charged well.  Tomorrow I may see if it will fire with the new coil.  Thinking tonight I may go for the Pro Touring style.

70 Z28 wheels with 235 60 15s? pro touring ala 1970\

the regular bumper sucks
your call on the spoiler of course, and it seems you have all three parts

better if you can save one born-with fender. My personal experience with repro fenders was scary, back of fender/front of door fit is not great
AMD is best. Team Camaro Body Shop forum is good, their Perf Section is weak

Noticed today the driver side spoiler piece was cracked and glued, gotta be from the quarter panel owie that seems present. A new spoiler will be required.

In other news, put the new coil in, still no fire....then off to NAPA to get a condensor and points. 3 pumps of the squirters and turn of the key, it was running...then died after 5 seconds. Did that twice; on the third start it stayed running. Nylon oil pressure hose squirted oil all over my jeans(cracked, brittle).

Need to figure out why the front parking and headlights don't work...marker lights do. Wheels turned forward and rearward, trans seemed to shift but needs more run time.

Making progress!
Since it needs a new spoiler are you going with the '70/'71 style? I think look much better, special balanced out with a small front chin spoiler.

Strip it, cage it, backhalf it, blower motor, GForce, Aronson clutch.  Did I leave anything out?

Whichever that was on it is the style I'm putting back on.  George said he thinks the small 1 pc spoiler ran through '71...it's cheaper but so what, I want the Big'Un.

She can't drive a manual yet....that's why I bought this one, for her to be able to learn and drive since her Dad won't do shit to restore his '67 SS 4 speed Chevelle.  I also didn't opt for classic plates, this one will be more of an everyday driver.  Tired of carburetors.

Nice pick up Mike! These have always been my favorite body style of Camaro. I'm sure it's going to look pretty sweet once your done! I agree I think the split bumper is a better look. Can't wait to see the progress on this.

Are you going to put the correct frontend on to go with the split bumpers?
