496 for Ben?
Dunno about that....think he likes to drive his car more...
What size are the fronts? They are not THAT skinny. Any decent wheel shop can straighten out the bugger. Heck, easy to straighten out a steel wheel at home, have done that a few times.

I'd 330 that while you build a 496. Why not? More fun to drive slow than to look at it parked.

Watch out, you are gonna get pelted with tomatoes!

I have put out some feelers to try and locate the pulleys and brackets and frame mounts need to use it... gonna depend on the cost, but it's definitely a possibility.(ducks)

..though building something else would be a priority as I well know the 330 was not burnout capable... I still have that 'Worst Burnout' trophy from Hoss's bbq back in 2012

I have frame mounts that might work?(you could borrow) If you really want it to drive and move while you get a REAL powertrain. :) My 330 was slow but would boil one rear tire.

Congratulations getting a new car/project. I really like 68s. If you need/want a billet steel flywheel(internal balance) or some 427 pistons I still have them(along with the Bob West cam).

Eric is going O/D this winter, so I'm buying his Iron Case ST10. Unsure the gearing, maybe he can chime in with what it is.

stupid question... Are 454's internal balance or external?

I'm gonna be cleaned out for a bit- but later this fall/winter i'll be looking for Flywheel, intake, brackets, pulleys, etc etc....

External.  I have a set of stock pulleys, and some other stuff, including a stock flywheel.  I still have the Linati cam, springs, and pushrods as well.  If you want them, I'll box them up.

It depends on which crankshaft you use...pretty sure there are aftermarket internally balanced 454 cranks. I also still have the ATI damper to match the flywheel.

Factory 454 cranks are all external balanced. Aftermarket is dependent on what you want. I usually seek internal balance for aftermarket

Keep in mind here that i have likely 4-5 months to track this stuff down- no huge rush here.
I appreciate whatever I can get my hands on & free is of course awesome, but I'm cool to pay for what I need to- I'm not a charity case... and I'd rather give you guys money than some stranger.

Anyway- Here is my known list of items that i'll still be needing to hunt down...

Crank Pulley
Fan Pulley
1969+ style pass side alternator bracket
1969+ style drives side power steering pump bracket
intake manifold
68-69 inner fenders

I think i have this stuff lined up already:

alternator - George?
PS pump - George?
stock 454 Flywheel - Mark? ** Or should I step up to the Steel flywheel that Mike said he had? unsure what he'd need for that, or if its necessary for my uses.
HEI - HAVE
Headers - HAVE
radiator - HAVE
Drive Shaft - HAVE

4SPD... Will have. I need to start hassling Eric regularly to make his O/D decision.

Its a pretty short list.

George, if you have not already painted the engine, please hold off- would be a fun activity for my kids to participate in when it gets up here in a couple weeks.

thanks for all the help guys, I can't even tell you all how stoked i am to get this and put it together. Really hard to not have it here at home to stare at....

Alt yes, think 63a
PS pump, think front bracket on it
car pan, OP &pick-up, dipstick (the pan will require 5 min of attn.)

Mikes FW is 427 "neutral balance" you need 454 "external balance"

why are you going LATE STYLE?
if you are, I have most of the pulleys a-plenty
