A 69 Chevelle lost it's life yesterday in Algona due to a garage fire. I've known Kenny for over twenty years, he has helped me and I him on many occasions at the track, this car was his baby for over 30 years

That has to hurt, any idea what caused it?

I seen it on Q13 also. Pretty heart breaking. I have been around him and that car since I started racing in the mid 90's. I read it on facebook but when he posted the pics my stomach was in knots.

I've seen that car run for years, that really sucks! I just hope his insurance doesn't bend him over.

That's what matters most.  I hope he gets another race car soon, I can only imagine how hard that would be on me and my wife if we lost our car.  We have have 4 pets and a human.

Sad for sure, I've seen that car race year after year. Losing mine would kill my spirit for sure.

Cause of the fire was the alternator wire, it had slowly chaffed through the bulkhead grommet and shorted out.

He has a brand new garage.

Engine for sale is the one out of burnt one, it went to G&M Performance in federal Way, has been refreshed

aww bummer, if that's the kenny i think it is he was bracket racing when i was a kid and just starting to bracket race. local legend if im correct. sad to see a chevelle lost like that. Specially one that has been owned for that long. Like losing a kid or dog.

Probably the same guy. The replacement '69 Chevelle race car came his way like it was meant to be! Sad loss, but awesome he recovered from it right away.
