Mike- Interesting to hear you are having brake lock problems after the cpp conversion... my friend's 65 C10 that we did all the work on a couple weeks ago had the same thing also has a CPP front disk conversion. Only different was they would not release for 15-20 mins... It hard locked on him coming up the hill to I5 from the ferry... had it towed to a shop, brakes were fine. they test drove it, they locked up... back at shop they were fine.

They power bled the whole brake systems a couple more times- no problems since then... fingers crossed that fixed it for him.

I bought it for the engine. Sold it to someone here to be put back together possibly. Brian is done racing.

Runs ok, the carb is a huge POS and I need to replace it, the brakes are still hanging up on the front a little, but otherwise it's doing ok. It seems to handle well for a heavy truck, could use sway bars though. It's a fun rig and I'll like it much more when I get these little things sorted out.

May have discovered the brake hang issue. I didn't use the little plastic tool for the combo valve piston when I bled the brakes. I need to see if it's off center and bleed them again.

After a bunch of research and going rounds with CPP, I ordered a replacement combo valve from summit and installed it over the weekend. The one from CPP was in the serial# range of ones they are having problems with, but mine also started leaking out of the front bleeder port and many others are having this issue. The summit valve does not have this spring loaded port which is only used with pressure brake bleeders, so I went that route. Hoping to get a second body this afternoon to help me bleed the system after having it apart again.

I bought a used holley DP650 on craigslist and bolted it up with a new fuel log and made a few small adjustments and the truck has never ran so well! Next up will be an exhaust, then a new tilt steering column so the blinkers work properly.

The new combo valve fixed the problem! Just need to make a slight adjustment on the pedal return and I hope the brakes will be sorted for good!

New carb installed and runs awesome, just needs more power :)
Scheduled for a new exhaust this Wednesday, then need to get a replacement seat recovered that I picked up with three point seatbelts from a '91 chev truck. lastly will be a tilt column for more driver room and working self cancelling turn signals.

Will it tow the race car about 9 hours away?

Would be a long trip in this, but doable. I'd probably borrow the father in laws truck for that.

88-91 had a decent bench seat without headrests and a little arm rest that folds down. The shoulder belts are decent and are supposed to bolt in.

Still driving this rust bucket around. Really want to tear it apart and put my other engine in it, but I know I'll just get it apart and find more stuff to repair before going back together. I'm going to leave it alone for a while. The new posi unit finally is allowing some slippage around corners now, it's taken a few hundred miles. It's been a handful to drive with it acting like a locker this whole time. Next up is a steering column and a foot print gas pedal :)
