OK, this is the thread where the Rally Green hulk gets put back together.

I closed out my storage the other day, a lot of stuff I did not have room for came home. My last 454 went to Rambo with plenty of spares and trade goods.  The hoist is down the block at Dennis's. Wow, three engine stands, all empty!  Cleared, sorted, tossed, gave away, traded.  I bought new tires for the Corvette so the no wear/near zero miles redline BIAS PLY tires bought/installed in 2006 went into newly made space.

For you newer folks, I bought the car 6 years back, not run in 21 years. Mike Beane and his dad provided the tow. Got it running the next day. Got it driving on that Thursday when the last of the brake parts arrived.  I drove that bitch until mid winter, then to Mikey's grandpa's for quarter panel eval.  Floor replacement, driver side, by Mikey. Total disassembly by Mikey, Craig, and Self. Damage found was beyond my skills so I took it to Bates, signed on for Auto Body for two years. She was cut-up, beaten upon, blasted, sealed. I learned to weld, hammer, cut. New metal welded-on, body work and paint by me.  HEART ATTACK and 2-way bypass 3 years ago a day before I was to bring her home.

Warmed-up HR-cammed 327, rebuilt-upgraded 2004R OD trans, and 12-bolt 3.73s already installed. Handling goodies installed though far from aligned. Rallys and easily available TA radials.  Design here is cruiser car, long trips. Upgraded the interior to Deluxe with Houndstooth, Gauges, owner-added RS is in a box on the shelf.

Now that I have some room, some time, no household walls or ceilings torn out with wires dangling, a budget now with Elky gone...
Getting back after it.  Thanks in advance for your patience, she should be a pretty good car when done.  Plan is to fire her soon, get her to where I can drive/stop and turn her around, have the exhaust pointed outward. Laying out bags of parts, sorting. Grandbaby here tonight, garage most of the day tomorrow.

we can do that trans cable darn near any time! I'm out by Western State Hospital.
THX much!

I am hopeful to have a local bring a 68 over, mimic their car assembly vs hours pouring over assy manual....
yeesh, 5.5 years since this thing was torn down, I have forgotten lots.

You'll remember lots of things when you put them back on in the wrong order and have to re-do it ;)

it won't be too long then Shane

Martin< yup, I'm not too far at all from going off the deep end.

Mike, yup, have forgotten LOTS, but it does come back.
In all honesty, I wish I had NOT stripped her bare necked. Yes, better in the long run but it sure is a PITA now

ya know BEN, I cleared out the garage with the stuff that went to you
then I got those two pair of heads back
then I bought more parts....then I realized it was GROUNDHOG DAY all over again.
selling lots of that, lots of calls, no firm buyer yet.

overall, more room at home, I get out there from time to time. House/Yard, yikes.
some key components are in a box, somewhere, for nearly every project....just plugging along. Adding all those options did not help me one bit.
It is far easier to disassemble a dirty car than to re-assemble something that you want every part CLEAN
Some work on the Yellow Car, constant hiccups on Gloria's MINI, keeping the S10 alive....typical stuff.

I am helping a crippled guy on his 71 Elky. No third gear on his th350.
I pulled his th350 the other week, it was not a 'quick and dirty fix' candidate
omit the saga on a new unit

A suitable salvage yard unit is finally present, heading over to begin the install. A mutual buddy has provided shop space

While visiting VEGA BOB trans guy, he said PETE wiped-out the th400 in my former Elky. Pete and his cars are back east somewhere.
Bob is building a super duty th400 and will ship it to Pete
Bob just figured that the 496 was too much ass for a th400 with just a shift kit.

If you need to relocate one of those stands, I know a guy who could use an extra one.

maybe some pics later....
have cleaned more than any man should have to clean
I must have lost a box. I seem to be missing some screw and fastener goodies; headlamp things, nuts for the heater core box/firewall side yet I have several screws for the inside. Also missing my frikking STOCK RADIO, new battery cables (new 5 years back or there about). This burns my azz. No chance I left it at Bonney Lake, do not think that I gave an 'extra' box of stuff away when I sold El Camino....yet stuff is not to be found here. Might turn up but I've looked damn good fer stuff.

Several aggravating things but I'll not get into this. New stuff not fitting kinda stuff.
I did find a stainless steel guy to work hickies out of the convertible Windshield pillar covers.

I did find all the major stuff. Dvr fender now joined the psngr fender in the storage room. With Wifey home tomorrow, I am planning a busy day.
fix hinge pin that I put in top to bottom on the upper
clean/install trans cooler lines
sort/install the 15 big and little lines for the new brake booster conversion, maybe even bleed the system
will have to reassemble the brake clevis to the lower position
re-install parking brake
re-install shifter cable
pretty sure that I have seen the shifter conversion PG to 2004R4 OD kit
locate fasteners for the heater core, complete this.
ARM broke again for the defroster. Nothing is working re repairs here. Damn POTMETAL
have to attach the TV cable and see if the bracket that I have will work

Have my antenna cable for the rear mount. Have not seen the antenna base, think it was thrashed so will get new
The main cables have been cleaned already, do not see much problem with this. Conversion to the gauges and tic tock tach will be later.
Busy busy busy
CAMARO show this SAT at GRIOTS Tacoma

George, I have some various new-in-bag and OEM fasteners that were duplicates or I forgot I had them and bought new like the speed nuts, headlight hardware etc. May save you some time and aggravation...

thx MIKE. Missed this earlier. Good to see you and Miss Katie.

Yes SHANE. Sounds good. Soon!
I think the kickdown bracket that I got from Bob/Performance Transmissions Pac Hwy@147 will work for now...will post up a pic or phone you a pic tomorrow or MON.
First trip is down the block

Got good ideas on a few hang-ups on the project today at the fairly lame Camaro Show at Griots. Six, yes Six 67-69 cars...WEAK!!!
