Might need to borrow/buy a 68-72 radiator
Permalink

Hey guys, so my radiator went T/U and I've ordered a new one but it looks like it might not be here on time to go to the track on 10/15. I was wondering if anyone would happen to have an extra radiator for a 68-72 gm A body I could borrow until mine arrives, or I could buy it if that makes it easier? Thanks!

A week or two ago you asked about TIG welding aluminum...did you take it somewhere like Performance Radiator where they fix that kind of stuff or is it somethinng else that went wrong?

Yeah same radiator same issue, i thought it was leaking from a pin hole where the radiator rubbed against the core support. I patched it with some marine JB weld.. then the leak continued and I figured out it was coming from the tubes.. I took it to greenwood radiator, the guy Ron (owner/operator) seemed like a cool guy, fellow chevy/Chevelle car guy.. he pressued tested it and we figured the cost to repair would be higher then the cost to replace it and the outside tanks were all warped and bloated.. the guess is that it got over pressurized and the pressure couldn't escape fast enough, which caused the tanks to bloat and separate from the cross tubes.. so I ordered a new one but estimated delivery is 10/18 and we were gonna try to get to the track on 10/15 one last time before the seasons over to test out my new cam and setup..
