Stripped all the rust and paint off the roof.. that was a lot of work.... I should of had this car blasted.

Looks awesome like this though- You should just metal strip the whole thing and clear coat it! Looks like a Delorean!

Cut out the old quarter and outer wheel house, welded in the new wheel house and started fitting the new quarter.

Wow nice! Are you going to cut through both panels and butt weld or form a flange and lap weld?

After a lot of thought I have decided to flange and lap weld the top seam. The side will be butt welded. I bought a pneumatic flanging tool. If I had a better welder I would butt weld the whole thing

this is impressive as hell... can't wait to see how this all turns out.

What color are you thinking of for this car when the bodywork is done?

Thanks! I’m thinking about doing satin black once I get all the panels and body work roughed in.

You totally saved this thing from the scrap yard. I don't want to go back and read through, have you decided what engine?

Nice job Matt. Curious to see how the flanging weld works out. What are you doing to the underlapped metal if anything?

Weld through primer on both sides of the lap, weld, grind, epoxy and seam sealer on the back side.

I’m going to do the same flange and lap weld on the other side just to keep it the same.

Thanks! It’s close enough for now, I’ll dial it in with some high build primer. Time to move on to the other side!
