The '66 Buick Special is up for sale - $6500
Permalink

Well, after 11 years I'm entertaining the idea of selling the Special. For the last 2 years I've been storing her at my parents house due to lack of space. Although they are cool with it being there, the result has been that I've only driven it 2-3 times since its been there.

I'm taking her up to Everrett tomorrow and park her as close as possible to the Colby Cruise Car Show, and see if I get any bites. I'm asking $6,500.
All drivetrain is extremely low mile.

Balanced and bored .030 Chevy 350 all forged internals, 11:1 comp, .550 lift, 285/300 dur @.020 - 106 lobe separation solid lifter cam/Bowtie Phase II 2.02 heads/ Edelbrock Air Gap intake/ Holley 750 dbl. pumper/built TH350 trans/12 bolt 3.90 posi.
Rear suspension completely upgraded with new coils, Lakewood 50/50 shocks and lower lift bars bars, with adj. uppers. Up front are Santhuff coils and 90/10 shocks.

She's run a best of 11.72@115mph before I upgraded from a 3000 stall to a 4200. I had the trans professionally built using red race clutches, 36 element sprag, and a B&M Stage 2 shift kit. New 3.5" dia steel driveshaft and solid u-joints by Drivelines NW.
I also bumped the nitrous kit from a 75 shot to a 125 shot (comes with 2 bottles). Should run low 11's now.
Also comes with the front skinnies (pictured) a pair of 6" wide matching front wheels with BFG's, and a pair of Draglites with Hoosier Drag radials for the rear.

Have many, many receipts for upgrades.

If any of you know anyone that might be interested please pass it along. I may consider a trade for the right Harley Fat Boy or Bagger, but the price is firm.

Thanks!

Oh man, the end of an era!!!  If you don't get any hits at the car show run it at Bremerton with the for sale sign on it!

Yep! That's where I work. I've had a few people stop and take my flyers out from under the wipers. Talked to a couple people about it since its been parked there.
One guy was looking for a first car for his son... until he saw the wheels up pic. lol

Several offers for trades. I listed online low mile Harley dyna or softails only.. I've gotten 2 trike offers (horrible), a couple of Sportsters, a higher mile road king, and a '66 chev pickup
Waiting for $6500 or the right bike.

Wow I didn't know you worked so close to my house. We will have to meet up for a beer or car gathering.

Looks like it’s back up for sale. New hood scoops and maybe fresh primer?

Lame mopar scoops. The GS scoop would be cool. Trying to double his money with new primer and and nothing else? Disc brakes would be nice atleast.

I'd guess that's paint...not primer.

Prices are up considerably from 3 years ago... Still may be a challenge to get that much, but you never know.
I really do like the looks of the 66 buicks.

Guys better get their money out of their cars now because when the crash comes there going to tank again.
Which is excellent for me as I buy high and sell low! LOL

At least a dual master cylinder for the extra $6k.

IMO the pics of the car at the track and the burnout pic of it on fire is not a good idea when selling. I agree that the price is too high. Now pull the engine, clean and paint ect, install dual master and disc in the front then maybe 9000 max.

I like the scoops(it's a Buick with Chevy running gear already, so who cares), but I also agree with what Kevin said.
