It's a click-ish shit show now, very few people help out with questions unless your in their little friend group. There is a ton of info to be had if have hours to search for stuff though. I cruise there on occasion to look for the rare find threads and build threads, otherwise I steer clear.
I actually went there last night when I was looking for plug gap info, wasn't logged in and got overrun with pop ups and video ads. Tried to log in, but my pw doesn't seem to work, not interested in fixing it right now.
I creep on there but never post. Got some PM's that my car is best suited for a scrap yard and I'm not contributing worth while info. Appears if it's not a numbers matching and correct 1970 SS, then it's garbage.
I especially enjoyed that some of the messages were from one guy who knew nothing about chevelles a week prior but now is an expert.
I go on there late at night looking for new and interesting threads but most threads are by Newbies who keep asking the same questions without using the search tools.
Mike is right, the people that can contribute good info don't always chime in.
Seems like a lot of people who's threads I followed and enjoyed are no longer posting. Sad how the site has gone down hill.
It seems as if you don't have a high dollar car, with a boosted or nitrous assisted LS your from the stone age.
I've noticed that answerers to technical questions have become arguments by the blind leading the unknowing to the point, that the people with real useful information won't post.
Most of the time if you can't find it within this website/group of people, you need specialty help from an expert anyway. I will be doing that I'm sure when it comes time for A/C and turbo stuff.

Biggest problem occurred when Al sold the site, and it left a void of leadership. a handful of mods who thought it was their god given right to "guide" the site as they wished when it didnt' need to be guided other than to keep the shit storms down. Dean seemed to (and continues to) stir up as much shit as some of the troublemakers.
That combined with the board software upgrade a couple years ago that forced existing users to figure out their long dead e-mail accounts to reset PWs- that dropped a fair number of existing members... then with all the popups the new site software has if you ARENT a full member and can't figure out how to get it to the classic view- that drove off even more.
It aint the same as it was. Still lots of good info if you search.

Too bad you weren't there 10 years ago, everyone chimed in with good advice and treated everyone with respect, even in the current events section. If you have some time some night, go back in time to the PNW section and you'll get a laugh or two. I can't believe someone actually had the balls to send you PMs.

I removed the ability for them to use a bunch of the "help" videos I had made and they tagged. After they cried about our little PNW link drawing all the attention and we left i figured they didn't deserve the help stuff. They are making money off it, I'm not.
