Keegan has a long road ahead of her, but all should come out fine.
They have a good handle on LEUKEMIA these days.
My little sister went through it 30 some years ago at Children's.
I wish her the best.

PS. TaMara recommended getting a port for all the shots if offered.

Yeah, a PICC line makes things a little easier.  I got rid of mine a couple of weeks ago.

Keegan had a PICC from day one
For round 3 chemo they removed the PICC and went for the BROVIAC (approximate spelling). The port is at the chest (several lines like a PICC). The lines go under the skin, up into the neck, and into the jugular.

THe little dervish recovered enough from rnd three to go home yesterday eve. Wifey Gloria and I babysat the two kids, daughter and hubby went to attend an event.
Mid month she goes several half day appointments to SEATTLE
End of month she is admitted at Seattle Children's
conditioning (kill her immune system so new stem cells are not killed)
install stem cells
let things re-boot
recovery
rehab
100 days

Jeez. no  I wish her successful treatment and a speedy recovery.  We were at seattle childrens last Friday night to get stitches in my sons chin.  He tripped and fell into the tractor front loader.  Seattle childrens is one of the best and they have a great team.  I'm sure she will be in good hands.

the plot thickens......
the little Dervish Keegan had been home several days. A week or so back they started a series of day appointments in prep for her to check in at Seattle Children's the 28th.
Well, spinal exam the other day revealed a measurable amount of LEUKEMIA where it was not measurable just two week back.
Conference with the specialists in Seattle yesterday....
It was determined that Keegan will be admitted Mon the 29th. She will get a FORTH round of chemo. Different sauce and 9 days. She will also get the latest inhibitor drug, oral med. Then after 9 days of recovery, stays admitted for the Total Body Irradiation, stem cell implant, etc
so, this adds 20 days to a 40-day lockdown and to the overall 100 day treatment/recovery cycle.
UGH
Tough break for a 7 y/o to go through this, tough on her family.

Very sorry to hear this heartbreaking cancer battle for this little girl!

A little while back I was listening to this TEDx talk from August of last year and I found it fascinating.  There is some exciting things happening in cancer research and President Jimmy Carter is a poster child, err senior citizen for Immunotherapy.

I wish Keegan a full remission and long happy life!

Speaking of old members.....
KT Hardwood Floor is here
KYLE," justkyle" is over and his morning feathering in where I widened some room to room passageways, sand where I put oak in a new closet, then stain. Clear and finish up tomorrow. Then I can put up the rest of the dining room and living room trim

His 68 Chevelle is getting a healthy 4wdb set and 9incher with 3.73s.
He has an M21
The zz4 is getting a roller Cam and schmancy heads from Straub

My grand daughter Keegan has finished a very challenging round 4 of chemo, this 2.5 weeks past.
She is feeling much better and is happier 10 days or so, like flipping a switch.
Await the date for the next stuff in prep for the stem cells.

Some oppty for garage time, get the Camaro to where it starts reliably, quickly, effortlessly. Hope to drop more trim with Tom the trim guru perhaps today

Great to hear Keegan is doing well. Its tough to see kids seriously sick.

Can't wait until some kinks are worked out of your Camaro.

Best of luck on all accounts.

For the new stem cells to not be killed by the immune system, they kill the immune system with total body irradiation. Then the new cells. Hop fully no no complications. She will likely have bone and teeth issues and need growth and puberty hormones. She will never have kids

lots done on the house before sister Kate showed up to visit. This is working around hospital visits, family support....
When she was here, Mostly favorable weather. She flew out, and before I returned from Seattle and the hospital, the wetness returned.
Putting the garage in order, doing some small projects,

Keegan spinal exam from Monday shows 4th round chemo and the leukemia inhibitor are working.... no bad junk found. Prep for stem cells starts the 13th, new stem cells the 23rd.
